Dan Masters’ career thus far has been a whirlwind of activity, and despite any formal training, he has been in the broadcasting business for over ten years. He is currently employed by "The Best of the 80's And More"...92.3 fm THE POINT in Savannah, GA.
Inspired to get into radio by listening to Rick Knight, a DJ on WDEN out of Macon, Masters began making calls to the station often, usually to chime in on subjects, especially when the topic was professional wrestling. Pro wrestling is yet another of Dan’s passions.
Dan’s first foray toward a career in radio was as an intern at WBFA in Columbus GA. He got the job lead when he met the Program Director Sam Diamond at – of all places – a live wrestling event in Columbus at the National Guard Armory. Shortly thereafter, he wound up becoming an on-air personality and has never looked back.
Meanwhile, Dan was also getting involved in wrestling, landing gigs as a ring announcer for Ben Masters’ Peach State Wrestling, based in Cordele. This led to an eventual meeting with a man whom he became instant friends with – and is still very close to today – the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes.
When Rhodes’ began promoting under the Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling banner, Dan took yet another role, as a manager for a tag team known as the Southside Trash, among others. Over the years, he has had stints with various promotions managing other wrestlers as well, including WWE Raw Host: Jerry “the King” Lawler and Hall of Fame member: Hulk Hogan.
Masters’ has also performed double duty as a wrestling announcer, providing commentary for an INTERNATIONALY DISTRIBUTED TV product, most recently with Showtime All-star Wrestling. Always ending up in the right place at the right time, Dan has also found himself in short stint situations on live Pay Per View events, such as one recently with TNA, and has also done work with World Wrestling Entertainment and Deep South LLC. in Georgia.
